BizzFlip.Com Classifieds - A Better Alternative
I never liked CraigsList. The last time I used their services, (Yeah! I know it’s FREE) it was back in 2004. And that too because a friend of mine had posted an ad.
Craigslist is a combo of Hustler + Monster + Ebay of sorts. I am surprised right out of my brains how on earth these employers and job recruiters even consider posting their paid ads on Craigslist?
I wonder if you would get many clients to contract posting ‘Employment Offers” and ‘Help Wanted‘ ads on your adult website. Craigslist is essentially an adult site with adult content in garb of a free classifieds site. It is not the kind of site I’d like my teenage daughter to browse through if and when she needs to scout for a room mate, an apartment or a summer job. Guess what kinds of jobs are available on the other side of the same page? While there, she can not only find hundreds of scam, spammy posts but also get solicitations for all kind of perverse invitations she may normally never come across, which would make any parent cringe.
Craigslist is not being fair to the audience it targets to. We all know that CraigsList is extremely popular with the young high school and college going crowd. By displaying adult ads on the same page where an unalarming teen wants to find a summer job, she can very easily come across a posting for an Escort service. I have updated this post to let my readers know that this is known to happen.
This argument is not about accessibility of content to teenagers or any other demographic, who can get influenced by undesired content. But rather, the argument is about the blatant use of a popular platform to provide a hand and a ditch at the same time. And this by a corporation, who should be practicing a more social and responsible approach towards our already perverse society. They’d rather posture for the greening of the earth rather than prevent the sickening of the mind.
CraigsList gets a lot of traffic for it’s adult content. The scum of the earth loiter within its posts. No wonder it is so popular. Ebay owns roughly 25% of CraigsList. Why won’t it allow adult content on its flagship site? And what I mean by ‘Adult’ is the kind of demented malaise not fit for humans.
I endorse BIZZ FLIP. This is a great site comparable to Craigslist and Kijiji and in many ways even better than them both. Find out for yourself. More over, I find their founders of good character. Their blog posts makes for a strong impression on anyone who reads it. And I am sold.
If you ever need to place a business ad, take a look at BizzFlip.com - This is a new service and there is a lot of room for innovation and improvement. Every launch site starts small. The companies we support can and does have a direct effect on our society at large. Every visit you make to CL makes it a contributing factor for them to prove it’s value.
To me it makes no sense to propagate the influence of CL any further so it can directly and indirectly contribute to the filth it passes out to our children day in and day out. I know, I live in America, where success does not measure the costs paid by others, nor does success accepts blame for it’s degrading influence on the young . As long as you are successful, you will get a platform. But it matters to me what I consume, in body and in spirit.
BizzFlip is a positively fledgling yet promising site and I am rooting for its near and long term success.
