Hotjobs - Be A Modern Day Slave

By: Chris Desouza
Published: July 30th, 2008

I like it how the media educates you on how to save on gas, groceries, utility bills and make you knowledgeable on which career is best for you and which jobs pays the most so you can live a better than marginal life. Yes, I love the media for it.

They talked a lot about flipping homes during the years of manufactured and deceptive real estate boom and were majorly responsible for the greed and feeding frenzy on the sub prime fiasco.

Now that the real estate market is in the pits and inflation rampant, they are quick to point on how you can save $0.40 cents on your high priced grocery bills.

Yes, I love the media. Everything your mom and dad failed to teach you can be learned by just popping up the various media portal sites, magazines and radio shows. They will help you solve all your worries. At least they try. Don’t they?

We are, as a population very smart to pay attention to the newly hired 20 something graduate with a new desk job on filling in website and magazine content. We can sure learn everything from that new hire. Everything we failed to learn in school, college and from our parents can be learned from that trainee, apprentice or that seasoned journalist educating us on what to do and what not to do (after the fact of course). Why not?

Below is a Hotjobs sponsored article on Yahoo on how to be a very good slave. I know, a lot of folks will identify with this article and even apply them to their daily routine. After all, a pat on the back from your boss and a 50 cent raise will do so much for your self esteem and your child’s future education.

Slave on my friend. Your future is bright. Serve that pimp. Get your recognition among 8 other people in your office. Get that watch. Get that $0.50 raise. Show your kids what hard work and perseverance is all about.

Be a good slave. And be proud of it.

NOTE : Nothing against the article though. If you are a slave, it just pays to be a good one.

Verbatim from Hotjobs Yahoo!

Every boss wants employees who do their jobs well
. But even among highly competent employees, there are distinctions. Here are 10 tips for making sure you’re on the boss’s A-list:

1. Communicate, communicate, communicate. Especially at the beginning of your relationship — that is, when either you or the boss is new to the job — err on the side of giving your boss too much information and asking too many questions.

“There’s no such thing as a dumb question,” says Marianne Adoradio, a Silicon Valley recruiter and career counselor. “Look at it as information gathering.”

Don’t keep up the constant stream of communication unless your boss likes it, though. It’s best to ask directly whether you’re giving the boss enough information or too much.

2. Acknowledge what the boss says. Bosses appreciate “responsive listening,” says John Farner, principal of Russell Employee Management Consulting. When your boss asks you to do something or suggests ways for you to improve your work, let her know you heard.

3. Collaborate. When your boss has a new idea, respond to it in a constructive way instead of throwing up roadblocks.

“Be willing to brainstorm ways to get something done,” says Michael Beasley, principal of Career-Crossings and a leadership and career development coach.

4. Build relationships. You’ll make your boss look good if you establish a good rapport with your department’s customers, whether they’re inside the company or outside. Bring back what you learn — about ways to offer better customer service, for example — to your boss. This is also helpful for your own career development.

“Everybody wins in the long run,” Adoradio says.

5. Understand how you fit in. Is your boss detail-oriented, or someone who keeps his head in the clouds?

“The boss’s personality is just incredibly important,” says Norm Meshriy, a career counselor and principal of Career Insights.

Equally important is understanding what your boss wants in an employee. It may be, for example, that a boss who is detail-oriented will expect his employees to be as well. But a boss who has no time for details may actually appreciate an employee who does.

6. Learn the boss’s pet peeves. If your manager has said repeatedly that she hates being interrupted first thing in the morning, don’t run to her office to give her a project update when you first get in.

7. Anticipate the boss’s needs. Once you have worked with your boss for a while, you should be able to guess what information he will want before approving your purchase order, for example.

If you provide it ahead of time, “that’s a gold star,” Farner adds.

8. Think one level up. You still need to do your own job, of course. But when managers consider who deserves a promotion, they look for people who understand the issues that their bosses face.

9. Open yourself to new ways of doing things. When your boss comes to you with a new idea, don’t simply dismiss it. If you don’t think it will work, offer to discuss it further in “a mature, responsible, adult-like way,” Beasley says.

10. Be engaged in your work. Arguing with your boss over every request is not a good strategy, but neither is simply shrugging your shoulders and agreeing with everything your boss says. “The manager would like to see an engaged individual,” Beasley says. That means both showing enthusiasm for your work and speaking up when you see room for improvement.

America And Her Selective Cause Saviors

By: Chris Desouza
Published: July 28th, 2008

People love America for different reasons. I do too. My reasons for loving this great country of ours is akin to comparing and watching a strong athlete, now ailing and limping. My love for the country besides being faithful to her laws also comes from having the realization that this mighty athlete will not be as nimble, agile, prolific, strong and inspirational as it has been.

This, because someone of her own, beat her down. This is what Americans and the phony leaders who govern her, have been doing to the nation for the past few decades. Beating her down for their own nefarious and petty gains. This great athlete is sick and limping.

Out of the blue, I received an email from a patriotic soul. Genuinely patriotic but with a warped sense of focus on what is most critical. America today is in need of care given to patients in an ICU and soon perhaps in surgery. So when someone sends an email asking me where to stick the thermometer, it mighty pisses me off.

Some Name sent me this message :

Date: Tuesday, July 29, 2008, 1:59 AM

Dear friend,
Recently I’ve been learning more about what is slowly happening in our country and to our freedoms, and it isn’t pretty. The bottom line is, our children, grandchildren and all future generations may not grow-up with the freedoms we enjoy today if we don’t wake up, en masse, and take action NOW.  Nothing short of our freedom is at stake and that is no exaggeration.

Please tell Congress to support the Constitution by sending a quick email. It’s easy and vital that you take action now and spread the word. (More details below. ) Your state representative needs to hear from as many constituents as possible about this.  Please take a moment and e-mail your representative today. Follow the link to take action.

The Bill
On October 15, 2007, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) introduced the American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007 (H.R. 3835).  This important piece of legislation would reverse many of the Constitutional abuses that have occurred over the past six years.

In the name of the “war on terror,” the Bush Administration and Congress have repeatedly abandoned Constitutional principles at the expense of civil liberties and human rights.  If we allow this to continue, we may end up living in a nation that reflects the worst nightmare of our Founders. They designed the Constitution specifically to protect our rights against a tyrannical government. Even in times of crisis, we must be true to their vision.

That’s why I just visited the American Freedom Campaign and took action by sending an e-mail urging my U.S representative to co-sponsor this legislation. The pre-written e-mail included a short description of the bill, along with a reminder about the fact that all members of Congress take an oath to “support and defend the Constitution.”

Your representative needs to hear from as many constituents as possible about this. Please take a moment and e-mail your representative today. Follow the link to take action.

Thanks so much for joining me in this effort.

From The American Freedom Campaign

http://afagenda.nonprofitsoapbox.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=42

At critical moments in our history, Americans have been called upon to protect our Constitutional guarantees of liberty and justice. We face such a moment today. The American Freedom Campaign is a non-partisan citizens’ alliance formed to reverse the abuse of executive power and restore our system of checks and balances with these ten goals.

Fully restore the right to challenge the legality of one’s detention, or habeas corpus and the right of detained suspects to be charged and brought to trial.

Prohibit torture and all cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.

Prohibit the use of secret evidence.

Prohibit the detention of anyone, including U.S. citizens, as an “enemy combatant” outside the battlefield, and on the President’s say-so alone.

Prohibit the government from secretly breaking and entering our homes, tapping our phones or email, or seizing our computers without a court order, on the President’s say-so alone.

Prohibit the President from “disappearing” anyone and holding them in secret detention.

Prohibit the executive from claiming “state secrets” to deny justice to victims of government misdeeds, and from claiming “executive privilege” to obstruct Congressional oversight and an open government.

Prohibit the abuse of signing statements, where the President seeks to disregard duly enacted provisions of bills.

Use the federal courts, or courts-martial, to charge and prosecute terrorism suspects, and close Guantanamo down.

Reaffirm that the Espionage Act does not prohibit journalists from reporting on classified national security matters without fear of prosecution.

To which I wrote :

What about

Illegal Immigration?????
Cross border smuggling?????
Having English as the national language????

You liberals already destroyed America as is. You kids will be ruled by illegal immigrants in the next 200 years.

Stupid sleepy Americans.

Someone Emailed back :

Chris,

You make very good points, however none of these areas are covered by the Constitution.  The Constitution covers our basic rights like, right to freedom of speech, freedom to gather, freedom to travel and move about, freedom to privacy, freedom to do as we please in our own homes, everybody is EQUAL (not segregated or treated by class, color, economic status etc.) …. The right to come and go as we please when we please - all the freedoms that Americans take so for granted - are given to us by our Constitution.

Since 1776 people have sacrificed their lives so that we can have these basic human rights and not be controlled by the power hungry.  Unfortunately the power hungry are crowding in our our human rights and personal freedoms and little by little eroding the power that the Constitution has.

The Constitution is the highest law in the land.  Without it being enforced and honored as is, America becomes a free for all for international financial power mongers (not the WHilte house, they are manipulated too) and no freedom in this country is guaranteed.  People can be subject to false imprisonment, jailed for writing a particular email or message, prevented from traveling, detained for no reason…. [all these are prevented by our Constitution.]

We Americans take a lot for granted.  It’s time we wake up and see our basic rights are being stripped and protect ourselves.

These same international powers also plan to combine the US, Mexico and Canada into ONE Country, eliminating borders.  The Constitution prohibits this.  Don’t you think if there were NO BORDERS we would have a TERRIBLE “immigration” problem?  Of course, then it would not be immigration at all.

Please fully appreciate the protection afforded the American people by the Constitution.  Too many American’s don’t.

I want to be free!

In Appreciation and Joy!

Some Name

To which I replied :

Some Name,

Very respectfully, I am not as knowledgeable as you are. But I understand where attention must be focused first hand. That being said, petitions will not cut it. This country is being sold in bits and parts and owned by global forces beyond the capacity for you and me to repair. Unless we have a Roosevelt or a Washington, very little will change.

But, keep the fight on. That makes you a true American.

Sincerely
Chris

And Some Name emailed, (other than the one above) very politely to a group and rudely to me personally as if attacking me in public would not be looked upon so kindly by her peers. What the fuck do I care? When I am pissed, check my language. I care less, whom I appease.

Message to a group in response to my message :

Sigh…sorry everyone. I thought everyone on my list was American, and/or would know what the Constitution is and impacts. My bad.

This is clearly a NON-partisan issue that impacts all Americans equally.

Some Name

Message to me exclusively in response to my same exact message :

What are you talking about? Whether liberal, or not (and I’m NOT - libertarian actually, if you know the difference) the Constitution is the very framework of our country. How does restoring the Constitution perpetuate the things you wrote of? This is an NON-partisan issue.

And thanks a lot for sending your rude and thoughtless reply to my friends and family. You only got this because Windows automatically adds everyone I correspond with to my address book - my bad. Sorry to bother you.

Some Name

PS We “stupid, sleepy Americans” (apparently you are not one) are waking up (stupid by design - read The Underground History of American Education) To learn the truth about illegal immigration, watch “The Endgame”. Read:  “The End of America” by Naomi Wolf, and “The Revolution” by Ron Paul.

My final response :

The constitution is also made up of laws. One cannot be selective and yet proclaim to be the bearer of justice.

I don’t wanna debate this anymore. Go fight for your cause and save this pending doom and gloom. America will be thankful for your efforts.

Love and best wishes
Chris

I was not rude. I said it like it is. And that bitch should know that I am an American as well. Her proclamation does not decide who is one. She should stand guard at the border and prevent the invasion of 2000 plus illegal aliens who cross the border every day and become instant Americans, whether we (by design or by flawed intellect) want to accept it or not.

I am right. In order for this country to be restored to its glory, we need leaders like Washington and Roosevelt. These Fomabas and the Mycain’s will only kiss ass for as long as what tastes best for their power base. And these sleepy bozos in the 7th hour of 8 are up in arms sending some sellout senator or congressman, congresswoman to take a look at their impotent petition.

Will they succeed? Not if there are more illegal aliens than Americans receiving their petition request. And this is where things are headed. The invasion of the land and annexation of government is in full speed, while these old farts are sending petitions.

A leader stands behind the motherland. 100%. The leader is not selective in his or her judgment. A leader does not bend the rules. A leader does not break laws.

Today, we have nothing short of criminals running government. Or at least until they get caught.

Pity America. She deserves better.

And yeah! Stupid sleepy Americans. Wake up!

Keep Your Head Above The Crowd

By: Chris Desouza
Published: July 27th, 2008

Keep your head above the crowd : A great friend of mine once said that if you stick your head above the crowd, you will be the one the sniper takes a shot at.

The fact that anyone takes shots at you, is strictly based on your keeping your head well above the crowd. :)

dk David Klein : Purpose Inc

My take on this : A shot is not the same as criticism. A fool cannot decipher the difference. The fool is too busy wallowed in the muck of arrogance.
