Nightline Faceoff – God & Satan

Published: March 28th, 2009

I saw this interesting forum on God and Satan on ABC’s Nightline via the web. It seemed like kids were bickering over who is right, and who is wrong. I was never particularly in awe of Deepak Chopra. His teachings and preachings, (if you may call it as such) relies on borrowed ambiguities. Although, it may sound contrasting that I do shift my own beliefs closer to his line of thinking, I never liked his eloquence. That boy, (successful as he may be) needs a dose of warmth in conducting human interaction, which I find in him substantially lacking.

He was testy and uncomfortable for most of the session. He went on to rebuke the pastor. I found his engagement with the young lady debating him on a counter point of view particularly offensive for the rudeness he displayed. I did not like what I saw.

Deepak – Your grasp in your truth may not be so insecure in that you get testy enough to rebuke others for their belief system. And, I am right. Your belief in your truth is sound and secure. You simply need to be able to display warmth and civility, especially when you are espousing the truth of this world to mere peons like us.

I couldn’t help, but fire an email voicing my displeasure with below :

Deep,
I agree (always have, even before I knew you) with your views. But, on Nightline Face-off, you acted rude to the young lady, testy and less than civil.

You need to get your speech and delivery more eloquent. Even the hooker sounds more graceful than you.

Chris

Pastor Winters, Rest in Peace

Published: March 9th, 2009

Welcome to First Baptist Church of Maryville. We hope this website will show you all that FBCM has to offer. If you have any questions about our ministries, please call our church office at (618) 667-8221.

First Baptist Church has a rich history and an exciting future. God has been the source of tremendous growth. We have gone from an average attendance of 32 in 1987 to over 1,200 today.

The Church began at 209 East Main Street and was officially organized on March 4, 1945. In 1987 our church relocated to six acres at 2184 Vadalabene Drive. My wife Cindy and I were called to serve here in that same year. Two worship services were held Sunday mornings from December 1988 to March 1991 until the new 500-seat sanctuary was completed.

In 1995 our church stepped out in faith again and purchased 35 acres at 7110 Illinois State Route 162 in anticipation of God’s work in the community. Our first service at our present location was on July 9, 2000 with over 1200 in attendance.

One thing that makes our church special is the people. From the caring staff to the friendliness of our diverse congregation, you will quickly discover at First Baptist that we are committed to truly being a family in Christ. Whether you are a recent guest or a long time member, we hope this website will help you find opportunities to become more connected with our fellowship. Find out more about what it means to be part of the First Family by attending one of the Pizza with the Pastor dinners in our home. Cindy and I are looking forward to meeting you.

Reverend Fred Winters – Rest In Peace.

Jesus in Kashmir

Published: November 22nd, 2008

NOTE : I am merely sharing this interesting documentation of Christ’s resurrection. I am not a scholar and I do not endorse any ones views. Christ has a special place in my being and my relationship with him is personal. I would not like you to be influenced by what you see and hear. Seek your own truth. Find your own consciousness. Live your own divinity the best way you can.

The Seeker And The Stupid Dog

Published: July 19th, 2008

The truth is, there are no answers. Only experiences.

I received a friend invitation email via Blog Catalog from Edson Dias, I presume from the state of Goa, India. I checked his blogs and although this particular blog was not listed within Blog Catalog, I found it via his Blogspot profile.

The seeker and the stupid dog is a wonder piece of commentary on the state of the human condition. Edson does a great job to infuse us with a little dose of wisdom, which we, in our absolute arrogance of claiming to know it all, may find thoughtful to backtrack and not seek the truth, but live in the moment.

Like I said, “There are no answers, only experiences.”
