. . . Sylvester Stallone!

My first name is Sylvester. Whatever! Who names a child - Sylvester? I never used to like that name. I’ve always used my other (more comforting) name : Chris! When I was growing up, I would either be teased with Sylvester the Cat or complimented as Stallone.

I always wondered, why Stallone never changed his first name? How about Chris Stallone?

I find Stallone’s life more compelling than Rocky’s. I find that there is so much one can learn from him. The ‘never say die’, the ‘never give up’ attitude is what one can learn from Sylvester Stallone. Besides sharing his first name, I’d like to think that I have in me the ‘never give up’ attitude. For who Sylvester Stallone is, as a human being and as an inspiration, I don’t abhor the name ‘Sylvester’ any more.
